Ostara – Spring Equinox

The greening of the land, the equinox is a time of balance between light and darkness, and the spring equinox lead us towards the warm Spring and Summer times. Ostara or Eostre is a German Goddess, her name means ‘to shine’ and she perhaps gives the name to Christian Easter. She is related to the hare and the eggs and is often celebrated by painting eggs symbolizing the promises of a new life.

Spring Equinox in northern hemisphere is also the moment the astrological wheel begin with Aries, the lamb, the fire cardinal sign that represents new beginnings. The regent of this sign is Mars and today it is in the sign of Virgo, perfect to do rituals to put our energy in new jobs or community projects.

So this is a feast to welcome the new.

Hail and Welcome Ostara!
